ESL - Dragon Song
Obelisk
Ernest Samuel Llime - 1978 - Lindenwood
Em E7 Em Am G Em
Dark morning dawns around
The wind's a'blowin' with a mournful sound
One by one we get up from the ground
Cursed be this chain to which I'm bound
The wind blows through my ragged clothes
The frost ate up two of my toes
My back's breaking and I can't sense my nose
Dragged for years and the end's not close
Em
Where am I now and where have I been before
Who am I now, who have I been before
Am Em
I don't know,
I just don't seem to know anymore
This guy next to me keeps on lying down
Take off his chains and he makes not a sound
He'll be staying here - become a piece of ground
While we're left here living, but forever bound
Side by side we have heaved for years
But I won't be shedding any tears
I still have to face my own private fears
For many, many long and lonesome years
Where is he now and where has he been before
Who is he now and who has he been before
I never knew,
And i never will, nevermoreCopyright © 2009 Ernest Samuel Llime. All Rights
